trembling particles (2024)
8′; solo quarter-tone extended clarinet
trembling particles is a reflection on the corporeally corpuscular nature of our reality. We observe our world as bodies with edges existing amongst other bodies, but zooming in on a body reveals particles, atoms, and the subatomic. This piece imagines this micro-world of vibrating particles – lively, trembling, and dancing. (And just like zooming in, we can zoom out – humans are particles at the scale of the planets, planets are particles at the scale of the galaxies, and galaxies are particles at the scale of the universe.
